"Selective Media 2.0"

Back when I was 16, I painted a piece called ‘selective media’. The painting is one of my fondest as it is the second piece I ever exhibited publicly and one of the first paintings I did with a strong message. 

The idea behind it was to draw attention to the lack of media coverage, neglect, and abandonment by society that is shown to ethnic minorities in comparison to their counterparts when concerning global issues or adversity that they face. 

6 years later, the message still stands more than ever which is why I decided to recreate this painting.
